Are you trying to access the backend of a “Website Builder” platform? Or perhaps trying to backup your webmail emails on SquirrelMail or RoundCube. Or perhaps you’re using Horde and want to know how to backup your emails. Whichever the case, it can be done with the Horde interface.
Follow these simple steps to backup or export/download your emails in bulk. If you need further help, ask a question in the comments section. Sometimes I find the best answers can be found in the comment sections.
OK, on with the steps…
Exporting/backup webmail emails
Step 1 – Type your Domain URL (e.g. blockweb.com.au) in the address bar of your browser.
Step 2 – Add /webmail to the end of your URL. (blockweb.com.au/webmail) and press Enter.
Step 3 – Enter your email address and password then click Log in.
Step 4 – Select Horde.
(You don’t need to make it default. Just click anywhere on the logo.)
Step 5 – Choose the folder you wish to export/backup. Right-click the folder, in this case Inbox, and select Export from the drop-down menu that appears.
Step 6 – Click OK on the pop-up. If your folder is too large, try selecting “Download into a MBOX file (ZIP Compressed)”.
You should now be seeing the downloaded .MBOX file in your Downloads folder or where ever you saved it. It is this file that you will use to Import/Restore your emails to your new hosting server.
Importing/Restoring webmail Backups
To import the file to the new host, simply follow the steps above after your new domain name and email address are ready. Instead of clicking Export, you just need to click Import.
And thats it! You should have all of your emails restored.
